Bobby Clark failed to get a move over the line to Rangers from Red Bull Salzburg in the winter window.
But the looming takeover by pharmaceutical tycoon Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises could see him become one of the first new faces in the door this summer.

The 20-year-old left Liverpool last summer in a £6million move to Austria to work under former Anfield assistant manager Pep Lijnders – but it hasn’t worked out for the prospect.

New boss Thomas Letsch has relegated Clark to the fringes of the squad and the door was open for a January exit to Ibrox.
With Swansea City also chasing a deal last winter, the Austrian champions would pull the plug on a deal having failed to find a suitable replacement before the close of business.
But having made just four appearances since the plug was pulled on a move, Kronen Zeitung report that the England youth cap will now be allowed to leave on loan.

Clark’s dad Lee – the former Kilmarnock boss and Newcastle United legend – fielded questions over the close call over a move to Ibrox and a potential return to the UK in the summer.
He left the door open telling the Newcastle Chronicle : “Who knows? There was lots of speculation in January.
“I think there were a lot of offers put to Red Bull from various British clubs. But I don’t think the deal was right for all the parties so it didn’t happen.
“We’ll see what goes on. He went to RB Salzburg because he had a lot of respect for Pep Lijnders who was Jurgen Klopp’s assistant when he left Liverpool.
“He lost his job and it can change the dynamics. But he has a long-term contract at Red Bull and we will see what happens next.
“Red Bull is an unbelievable organisation. Salzburg are trying to win the league which is always their aim, if not to get into Champions League again.

“It has been hard, the manager he went and signed for in Pepijn Lijnders lost his job so it was the first time Bobby experienced that.
“In a short space of time as a young professional, he has experienced a lot of ups and downs.”
And it’s that connection to the Red Bull organisation that could clear a path to Ibrox – with reports that the drinks company could be heavily involved following the takeover.
It is report thay Rangers will soon have Red Bull as front-of-shirt sponsors like Leeds United when the 49ers take control at Ibrox.
49ers Enterprises, the investment wing of the NFL giants, are the driving force behind the bid and also have full control of Leeds after a £170m takeover two years ago.
