Everton delegation jets out as work underway to sign Moses Simon amid £12m

Everton are reportedly working on a deal to sign Nantes forward Moses Simon.

David Moyes looks set to lose several attacking players at the end of the season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract will expire, while it’s unlikely that Jack Harrison and Armando Broja will see their loan deals converted into permanent ones.

It means that Everton will be keen to add to their attack and Nigeria international Simon, 29, has emerged as an option for the Merseyside club.

The former KAA Gent star, who can play on the left wing or as a centre-forward, has scored seven goals and supplied nine assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances for Nantes this season and whispers in Africa suggest he could be on his way to Bramley-Moore Dock.

According to AfricaFoot, the Toffees are “working behind the scenes to sign” the 2022 Coupe de France champion, who’ll be available in the summer if interested clubs can stump up around £12.8million.

Simon is understood to have told his agent to find a move to England in the upcoming transfer window, which his advantageous for Everton as AfricaFoot claims there are other teams in Europe who are keen on the forward.

Everton have busy summer on their hands

PSR shouldn’t be as big an issue as it once was at Everton, and while The Friedkin Group has taken control of the Merseyside club from Farhad Moshiri, fans shouldn’t expect a free-spending summer.

However, it’s going to be a big summer nonetheless, with key players’ contracts and loan deals expiring, Kevin Thelwell leaving his role as director of football and incoming chief executive Angus Kinnear wanting to bring Nick Hammond with him from Leeds.

On top of that, Everton are saying goodbye to Goodison Park and moving to their state-of-the-art new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock

Nantes forward Simon is a player who’s done a lot of good on the continent but at the age of 29, is he really someone Everton want to look to the future with?
