Barcelona are keeping tabs on ‘Polish Jordi Alba’ Michal Karbownik

The Catalans have long bee trying to find a proper competition for Jordi Alba at left-back.
In the latest turn of events, Wisla Krakow’s revelation Michal Karbownik has emerged as a potential heir for the Spaniard, Mundo Deportivo report, citing Polish journalist Krzysztof Stanowski.
Quique Setien isn’t convinced by Junior Firpo and sees the 17-year-old as a potentially better option.
The Catalans representatives were scouting Michal’s Wisla teammate Aleksander Buksa and spotted the Poland U19-international.
However, Barcelona are far from the only team trying to land Karbownik. According to the same source, Tottenham, as well as La Liga sides Real Betis, Sevilla and Real Sociedad, are also keeping the tabs on the talented youngster.
Karbownik, who started in 17 out of 26 Krakow’s clashes this season, can also feature in midfield.
Sevilla-based news outlet Estadio Deportivo suggested that Barcelona and Real Betis can repeat the ‘Emerson formula’ in Karbownik’s case as well. The Player will be bought by two clubs simultaneously, joining Betis first and then going to Barca.
Should Barca sign the Polish starlet? Or would you rather see them putting more faith in Firpo? Tell us in the comments our use our brand-new blogging platform!

What point buying another left back? Barca got own very good leftback from B-Team, his name is Akiemi. I think this Barca current board are totally blind with their own young players. Useless board.

It depends on how much he’s worth? Knowing our board we would buy him for 35m then try sell him for 20m

On this day 40 years ago legendary Chopper Harris played his 795th and last game for Chelsea

On 3 May 1980, Ron Harris, an iconic Stamford Bridge defender, also known by a telling nickname ‘Chopper’, played his last game for Chelsea. The Blues defeated Oldham Athletic 3-0.
Up to this date, Harris remains one of the greatest players to have ever worn the Blue shirt and the love story between Chopper and Chelsea is a truly remarkable one.
As a Chelsea kid, Harris won the FA Youth Cup in 1961 and joined the senior side in February 1962. Chopper made 10 appearances across all competitions in his first two seasons at the club and was an immense part of the Blues starting line-up over the next 17 campaigns.
In 10 seasons, Ron averaged 41 league games out of 42 possible and in 5 other campaigns, he averaged over 37 games. In 1980, the defender left Chelsea for Brentford, having set a record for the most appearances in the Blue shirt – 795(!) which is unlikely to be ever surpassed.
Chopper was appointed Chelsea captain in 1996, was the youngest ever captain to lead a side in the FA Cup final in 1967 and helped the Blues to win 3 trophies, including the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971 which allowed him to remain the most successful skipper in the history of the club until Dennis Wise in the 1990s.
While many of Chelsea’s stars left the club during a huge crisis in the 1970s which saw the Blues relegated twice and promoted once, Harris stayed with the team. Naturally a centre-back, Ron played as a left-back and was used as a cover at right-back when Chelsea were short of players due to injuries and financial struggles. Nobody ever heard a word of complaint from Chopper.
On 13 November 2019, Harris celebrated his 75th birthday. What an absolute legend he is!
